Why do people work out? Some say they work out for health reasons. Some say they work out so they can stay or get to a certain size. Woman say they want to look great in a skimpy swimsuit, to attract men and have their friends jealous because they have all the attention.
Why do we feel the need to work out? Maybe it’s because of the media that tells us we are fat, and we need to buy the latest and greatest thing that’s going to help us loss weight. Then we see celebrities that we want to look like, so more people can notice how attractive we can be. Not knowing if we go back to our old habits and back to the couch, we tent to put the weight back by being to comfortable.
When did it become the thing to look perfect? When did it become a mission to look like a model, actor, or a major entertainer? Now a days the men have just as pressured of being attractive as women. They have to look a certain way plus men have to have “Swag” now!! I know it’s not like that with everyone, but the majority out there is You Have To Look Flawless.
For years I had stopped working out and sat doing nothing. Now, I attend Zumba classes and it’s pretty fun. Then I kept looking at myself thinking. Why aren’t I’m losing weight? At first I told myself and others that I just wanted to tone and tighten up. Later, I became frustrated about not losing weight fast enough. Then I realized if I stop thinking about and stop worrying I’ll get to a place where I lose an inch or two. Like I said we need to stop focusing on being so called fat, and starting focusing on health.
I’ve been in the Modeling and Entertainment industry all my life. So I know all about the I need to be perfect or the need to look better than a other individual. The Compare and Compete! Maybe we shouldn't try to strive to look perfect, because no one is perfect. We should strive to be better and healthier. We shouldn't workout to be vain or make others resentful, or jealous. We should strive to be health and happy. You shouldn't have to rely on diets and other stuff to make you loss weight faster, because you can quickly gain it right back. Exercise, Eat Right, and Enjoy life should be the way to enjoy your life.
